WEBINARS 2011

•  THE 12TH FIVE YEAR PLAN IN CHINA: IMPACT ASSESSMENT ON SELECTED INDUSTRIES

The Chinese government has approved the 12th Five Year Plan.  China is at a crucial juncture, facing both a complicated international environment and an increasing imbalance of domestic development.  The Chinese government will have to deal with these factors during the 12th Five Year Plan.  Given that a series of new policies will be in place, multinational companies will need to re-position themselves against any significant adjustments to industry policies driven by the new 12th Five Year Plan.

In this webinar SAI interprets the key objectives and policies of the 12th Five Year Plan, as well as the potential impact on select industries.

•  FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT POLICY AND REGULATION IN INDIA

In India, growth has declined from an average of 9% recorded from 2005 to 2007, to between 7% to 8.5% during 2008 and 2009 but has since rebounded to nearly 9% in 2010 and is expected to surpass 9% during 2011. The rapid recovery of the Indian economy is partly due to the high level of co-relation between the domestic market and Indian GDP and the rapid response by the government through focused stimuli over the latter part of 2008 and in 2009.

Indian Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) policy has been liberalized since 1991 but still presents a significant degree of complexity. Over the last year the government has placed increasing focus on further liberalization of the FDI policy.

SAI’s executive briefing on India’s FDI policy will assist you in understanding the situation and also will provide information regarding existing opportunities.  Now is the time to take action and develop a sound game plan relevant to your overall potential for investment in India.

 •  OUTLOOK FOR KEY LATIN AMERICAN INDUSTRIES

Latin America should be on your emerging market radar screen.  It is poised for growth over the next five years, as the result of favorable fundamental economic growth, higher disposable incomes, strong exports to Asia, new infrastructure projects, oil finds off Brazil’s coast and the upcoming soccer World Cup in 2014 and the 2016 Summer Olympics.  Opportunities exist for multinational companies to benefit from this growth, particularly in select industries.
